Rules for using the widget
- It's an estimate tool, not a quote. Estimates are planning guides, not binding bids. Final prices come from your builder.
- Don't present the numbers as your own bid or as a guarantee.
- Keep "Estimate by QuoteAndBid" and the disclaimer inside the widget visible. Don't cover or crop them.
- The link under the widget is appreciated but not required, and you may add
rel="nofollow"to it. - Builders and contractors may embed it.
- Free to use. We may change or retire the widget at any time. Our Terms of use apply.
Questions
What do the numbers show?
The same estimates as our cost guides for that project, size and area. Labor uses a local crew rate adjusted for your area, materials use 2026 prices, and 20% builder overhead and profit is added (except on stand-alone permit and inspection fees, which are passed through at cost). The fair-bid range runs from about 15% below to 20% above the total.
How often do prices update?
The widget updates automatically when we update our prices, and shows the same date stamp as our cost guides (now: Prices updated Oct 2026).
Does it use cookies?
No. The widget sets no cookies and stores nothing in your visitors' browsers.
